Tour starts today. Over the last seven years, we’ve played lots of shows all over the country and beyond. It’s been super fun and we’ve eaten our weight in pulled pork all over the world. This summer, we get to do something that both Bryan and I have wanted to do for a long time: be a part of the Vans Warped Tour.
Warped Tour is a traveling music and skateboarding festival that features over 70 bands on 9 stages. I still can’t believe we’re one of those bands. Somebody pinch me. Actually, don’t. What is the Vans Warped Tour? Basically, 15,000 people show up to an arena parking lot in the blistering sun to see heaps of bands play. It’s madness and we can’t wait to get started. We’ll play 38 shows in 45 days across 26 states and one Canadian providence.
In high school, my friends and I started a band (that's us up above). We looked up to and were inspired by bands like Blink 182, Bad Religion, NOFX, Rise Against, Saves The Day, Anti-Flag and many, many more Warped Tour acts. There weren’t many other kids at our school who liked these bands, but for one day a year we found our people. It helped us feel less weird. It helped us feel less alone. This is why Vans Warped Tour still matters and why it means so much to us to be a part of it. While the musical and cultural trends will always ebb and flow, the Vans Warped Tour will remain an important and rare place for young weirdos and outcasts to see music and become a part of a community.
We can’t wait to see you there. We’ll be documenting everything in lots of different ways.
